Sorry but it looks like a cow...or a very fat horse...because some critical lines are missing (legs)
Hahaha you're totally right. It's a mockup. I'm already working on the 2nd prototype.

Back in '65 you could buy a lighted Pony corral for your grill. It's not a new concept.

I'm also interested in this idea. I'm not a professional but what about loosening up the front emblem enough to slide in two strips of LEDs so that it illuminates it (some LEDs similar to the ones on the attached pic). Then tighten the emblem back up and somehow add some wiring to make them work. Just a thought haha

Emblem is held in place by plastic "teeth" that clip into the grill. And usually they break off when attempting to remove.
Best bet would be to just break off the tabs, put a spacer behind the Pony to stand it off from the grill and then light it from behind with the LED's. Hold it all together with 3m double sided foam tape.
Drill holes behind the pony to run the wires through.

Pretty much exactly what my 2nd prototype is. Great minds... Parts on the way.

For the grille delete / aftermarket grille guys, a 3D printed pony outline could work.

Im about to order GT grill set I was thinking I'm gonna try to Dremel out the honeycomb but leave the center pony attached to at least one single strip of honeycomb. Is that makes any sense at all.

Oh yeah, that could look really cool. Try it out and post some pics. I saw a SEMA car that had a grille delete but mounted the pony somehow.

Edit:
Found it. Bojix Designs

Looks like it was mounted from the underneath the hood latch with like a curved piece of metal or something.
