She must not have adaptive cruise then. I read in that article that the 2 can't be used at the same time due to the sensor location unless that model is different. I've been looking but haven't been able to see one on the street yet. Doesn't seem like it would be illegal here in FL as everyone has lite up everything it seems. Seen a guy the other day with an F350 with glowing white 22"s and mud terrains
She doesn't have ACC. Or the illuminated star :v

Maybe IT is just an illuminated ster that is illegal and the policing authorities just do not give a F until he or she pulls you over for IT and decides that this little violation is justification enough to give a real bad day or night if that is and would be reason enough to search every nook and cranny that you might have hidden that all ilussive contraband that he or she can plant inside a nook or cranny ..

Now if you are not possitive of this tail . I would not test IT .. I would comply .
These little but often utilized restrictions to our freedoms are all well known by the authorities way before US uneducated citizens ....................
A cop that will plant shit in your vehicle doesn't need any real PC for a stop. They will make it up. So if that is truly a concern for anyone, they need to probably stay home.

I just asked at the MB dealer after dropping of my mom's ML class for maintenance. They are programmed to stay on at least in Texas where it is not illegal for it to stay illuminated while in motion.

Ayyyyyy! We just took my moms car in for service today! In San Juan right?

It's EL wire wrapped around the actual pony from a GT grille set I removed the mesh from.
It's a prototype, but I'm thinking it wouldn't be too difficult to design a tailor-made pony outline and have it 3D printed for a really professional EL wire setup.

I can see this being realllly slick. It's just about the perfect brightness. Maybe I can even incorporate a dimmer.. SO MANY IDEAS.
Yeah, I'll probably make this. Let me know if you guys are interested or have any ideas

Hopefully this can be done without having to remove the mesh or too much modification. Also, color changing lights would be cool. Been looking for something like this since I got my first stang lol :headbang:

If it can be made into a "sharper" pony I guess you'd say, I'd be interested. The wire just wrapped around it makes it look like a cartoon pony kinda. These cars need a sinister pony! Still looks awesome.

Oh yeah, I'm on the same page. If you look at your stock grille there's the actual chrome pony and then the black portion of the grille itself that the chrome pony sits in. That black piece was used to make this, so its definitely a little cartoonish, or "fat pony" as the houston people have begun calling it hahaha. Again, this one was just a proof of concept.

With a custom outline piece, the design would be much sharper. I'd like to achieve the same simple, subdued look as the MB illuminated star on the 1st page.

Hmmm... it could probably be made as a replacement for the chrome pony. That way you'd pop out the stock pony, insert the new "glow pony" and secure it from the back through the same attachment points. Run your wires through the grille and boom. :D
