I finally got around to installing my export decklid panel on my GT, but turns out I installed it wrong. I was wondering why it fit poorly. I didn't slide the clip on the back of the decklid into the bracket on the trunk lid.

So, when I removed the oem one, I damaged the two clips above the reverse camera.

I'm looking for tips on how remove this one without possibly breaking it. I am already dissapointed in the dimples it has, but I can live with that once I get it installed right.

Any tips?

I'm guessing you tried to pull the decklid straight out and it put up a fight, but you finally got it out? Same thing happened to me. I had to buy a new decklid. There is no fix. It will hang down because of those two clips. Even after you get another one, you may still have a gap. That gap would exist because the really thin sheet metal was bent outwards. You will have to take the decklid back off and bend the sheetmetal around the tabs back in or at least make sure it is straight.

When removing it next time, try to use a screwdriver to lift up on the tabs in the middle.
