It looks pretty good up close - approaching the car for the first time was amazing. A couple of employees in the dealership said they had changed their minds about what colour was best. I do want to get a glossy top coat on it but will wait until the scratch fix.

'65 is gold with a green interior (no stripe) which sounds disgusting but really works - you will see, soon I hope. It has a 289 HiPo (4.7l) which barely makes half the power of the new car. Fuel economy not much different though :ford:

Scratch aside, the dealer prep looks tidy? Strange the prep guys didn't identify it though.

Yes, they have done a really good job. It was very tidy inside and out. They had it about a week while they were waiting for the wiring fix kit (I was out of the country). I think they probably saw the scratch or maybe even put it there (!) but knew I was desperate to take the car anyway and get on the road.

You are right there. I don't have the patience of a saint as Ben hinted. Just distraction therapy (nearly bought three other cars while waiting, including a Boss 302 Laguna Seca) and of course wasted hours on here :hail:

I think it could be to do with the stripes. There was a queue apparently and it is an off-line process. It has of course been commented here that there was no queue order at all. I'm going to try and forget that now

I wonder if it's plug and play to put the EU spec tail lights in my US spec car. I'm one of those people that wish it was illegal to use the brake light as a turn signal!

I've seen your pics on the Ruby with Stripes thread and yours looks pretty amazing too - loving the wheels. I guess Ford didn't want a mismatch of hood colour to stripe (imagine silver hood :lol. I also thought silver ott's with Guard and other combinations would have been amazing but they weren't allowed, pity!
