I have between 9-10mm or 11-12/32" of pad left. I have a track day at NJMP thunderbolt on 10/24 and I'm trying to decide whether or not to replace the pads, or if I have enough. I'm trying to avoid paying for pads because my maintenance plan covers brake pads. The catch is that they must be at 3mm or less. I don't know how hard thunderbolt is on brakes, but the track layout doesn't look like it would be. Also there will be 7, 20 minute sessions, with at least 40 minutes between each session. This is for the fronts only, the rears have plenty of pad. What do you guys think?

The front pads only have about 11mm of pad material when they are new. Unless you are including the backing plate?

As long as they have over 50% you should pass tech.

Can you bring them and return them if you dont need them?
That's a good question. Although I'd rather not change them at the track. IM very confident that I can change them myself, but Ive never done it before, and I don't want my 1st time to be at the track, for obvious reasons.

Wow only 11mm? I'm measuring the friction material only, not the backing plate. So 9mm should be good. IM going to keep an eye on them after each session. My main concern is not being able to.finish the day because of the brakes.

Just came from Thunderbolt and besides the end of the front straightaway it wasn't very abusive on brakes IMO. You should have plenty for the day.
