I'm trying to ship from central Ohio to NW Washington. Anyone know of or have used decent companies? All the bids I've gotten on uship have been 14-1500 range for an open trailer. Thanks.

Just can't get enuff!
I used Exotic Car Transport last year when I had my '15 shipped from PA to FL... I do know they ship all over the US, especially if long distances. I didn't have any problems and the truck driver routinely communicated with me throughout the entire journey. Here it is from back then: http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showpost.php?p=891152&postcount=7

I have also heard good experiences from folks who used Plycar, Reliable, and Horseless Carriage... therefore those are other options. Get quotes & details and then compare.

Reliable is good but you get what you pay for. The other route is to find a broker and take your chances. The brokers simply post your "job" on a website that truckers use to fill loads and how quickly you get a response depends on where you are going (is it a well traveled route or remote location, etc) and the dollar amount. If you're willing to pay more, you'll get picked quicker. I had my car shipped 500 miles and price quotes were anywhere from $450 - $1,000. I ended up getting it shipped in an enclosed trailer for $450 but the deal was sketchy (driver barely spoke English and couldn't drive a stick....). I found the broker Fees to be in the $100 - $150 range. Make sure to go with a broker who does not collect his/her Fee until he/she gets you a slot on a truck....outfits like Reliable you can deal direct but they cost more. Seems the quote from Reliable for the 500 mile trip was around $750 compared to $450 that I eventually got it shipped for.

There are literally hundreds of brokers and I talked to quite a few. I finally decided on an outfit from NJ just because I felt comfortable talking with the guy:

I used 4 Corners Transport out of Camas. He's a broker and hooked me up with an enclosed trailer with a lift for about half of what it would have cost for a company like Reliable, Passport, etc...to ship it. I'm in Everett and had my car shipped from PA.

+1 ....Yes, Plycar. Great outfit, all enclosed, drivers are employees.
Pay by CC ( miles baby!) track truck -gps. I had drivers cell
and talked to him as he got closer, turns out he lives 40 miles away.
Usually straight through, car does not move.

Brokers are cheaper, and you take your chances.
Example, just got a quote on Plycar for 2100 miles, $1800.
Lowest OPEN transport, with a broker on UBid was $1100,
I will pay the extra $700 for a $60k car.
