Shifter goes into reverse without pulling collar

Hey guys, I just picked up a 2015 Mustang GT and am having a minor issue. I am able to go into reverse sometimes without pulling the lockout collar. Has anyone had this happen before and what was your solution? It got me a couple times when I was heading home from the dealer, I put it into what I thought was first but really was reverse. The collar was all the way disengaged too! It is much easier to go into reverse with the collar pulled, but sometimes it just does it when I am trying for first. Any ideas?

Edit: Actually, maybe I was just pulling too hard on the shifter. Now that I am used to the shifter, I have not done it again unless I intentionally make it happen. Anyway, I love this car!

Also check if you can twist the collar.
