Modify the rod that you are screwing the knob onto, youd have to shorten it.

Not quite, it doesn't really bother me though. Everything is completely functional, and it doesn't look out of place. I took better pics today if you would like to see. I'm currently trying to come up with a way to fill the gap.

Yes I will post them when I get home. I took better pictures, but if the pictures I have now don't give you a good idea of it I can take more tomoromow (car is in the shop).
