Congratulations, G!
Be sure to take plenty of photos and a video!

:headbang::cheers:

Hopefully the paint defect is just a buff sand and polish. 5 minutes tops if its nothing serious.
Nah i think its more than that, there's crud in the paint.

Cover was in the boot along with those horrendous plastic plate mounts. I've taken them both home with me to avoid the cover getting "lost" & the brackets accidentally mounted. Plate is getting stuck on the front.

My #6 badge isn't in the car either or with the UCL pack so i'm going to have to hunt that down.
Congrats.

Can you please post a picture of the plastic mounts? Trying to work out what to ask my dealer to do with my plates.

Here you go. We got a plate this morning and test fitted to the front, there's a bit of a bend but i think a few sticky pads will secure it ok. Maybe double stack at the sides to stop it bending so much. The dealer demo has the plastic mounts on and they look ridiculous, more so the front.

Thanks a lot mate.

The front sticker plate you're getting - is your dealer making that up or are you supplying it? If so would be great to know where you're getting it from.

Just using sticky pads mate, the bend isn't too bad. If we stack 2 pads at the sides then a couple near the middle, its just direct onto the bumper then a bit like the demo cars that were doing the rounds.

If they are sticking the plate to the bumper using those 3M pads
It might be wise to bend the plate to the shape of the bumper using a hairdryer to take the stress of the pads, just a thought!

Yeah thats what i said as well, wasn't sure on the legality of heating a number plate up and bending it though. You know what our laws are like, it'll probably alter the spacing of the letters by a couple of microns.

Oh god its all kicking off, dealership manager is spitting blood about the paint issue, he's been onto Ford who are wondering how the hell its passed QC like that!
Upshot is they want it into the bodyshop first thing tomorrow before anything else is done. Waiting on a call tomorrow morning from the manager to see if they can get it done immediately. Bodyshop they use is another dealers though. I have it on good authority that 1 person will be responsible for transport and only 1 person at the paintshop will deal with it, i said i'm not having it sitting around for anyone to poke & prod.
If they can't get it done then its probably going to be about 6pm before i can pick it up and i'll have to sign a disclaimer to say i'm happy to take delivery pending corrective work.

Congrats on the delivery!

Must be exciting, and after all the waiting you must be very tempted to take it home asap - but if that were my car there's no way on earth it would be leaving the dealership with that paint flaw. Get them to sort it properly not rush it .... just my opinion, of course :)
