Ok ok, I can already hear the longtimers here saying, this has already been covered... If so, apologies in advance, but I have flicked through the threads and can't see owt... :headbonk:

I understand the EU / GB versions will have the gill LED's within the headlight cluster disabled because of some silly EU legislation over dimensions from the indicators.

But does anybody know if these LED's can be re-enabled and if so, is it going to be an easy fix? :eyebulge:

Yes we know and no they can't ;)

Sorry, the LED panels are missing. There is a thread on the Europe forum which discusses having them reinstated. Not terribly easy.

Not disabled in afraid, completely missing. It's a different cluster

Easiest fix is probably to buy some US-spec headlights.

MOT isn't the issue, your beam pattern will be wrong, makes driving in the dark dangerous for you (because you're lighting the wrong side of the road) and other drivers

But I love the RTR grill with Leds, seems a lot simpler and cooler

I was actually thinking about buying some cheap LED waterproof lightstrips and putting them inside the light cluster myself

If the board is missing, they should just slot in and stick in with some gaffa tape. :lol:

If you're genuinely serious about baking open the light units then i'd be inclined to go the whole hog and get the Diode Dynamics RGBW kit - http://www.diodedynamics.com/store/...g-drl-led-modules/category/1451/#!prettyPhoto

Shame they're illegal in the UK, it wouldn't really be worth it.

As for baking, it depends on the adhesive used. Baking is just the default. Sometimes a solution to dissolve the glue can work.
