Setting Power Seats

OK. Most of the time when I get in my car and start it, the seat automatically moves forward to its' pre-set position. All good--BUT, sometimes the seat remains back and I have to push my pre-set button to get the seat to move to the desired pre-set position. Help please. Thanks. Nick

Happens to me quite often. I'm sure someone will chime in with a real answer, but it usually happens when I'm in a hurry and don't have the break fully depressed when I start it up. Or, you can shut off the "easy access" feature.

Happens to me quite often as well. When I get in and press the start button without the clutch pressed to start the car, it seems to work most of the time. Sometimes when I get in and just start it up, it doesn't adjust. I've also noticed that every now and then when I do this the radio/nav screen won't come on and stays black. Really annoying when it happens.

if you move the seat to do something or my detailer who is very tall sits in it. it only remembers the last movement I think

You don't have to depress the brake pedal to start the car with a manual tranny, just the clutch.

My guess is you probably have your seat adjusted most or all of the way back and don't notice it or the easy in-out got disabled.

The easy in-out is a separate setting. If that's enabled, The seat should go back when you shut it off and move forward when you start it. It will move forward to where ever it was last adjusted.

Right, I've noticed that as well. But it also happens every now and then when I haven't messed with the seat settings. The main thing ive noticed is it seems to happen more when I'm in a hurry and start the car quickly or could be when I don't depress the clutch completely to the floor. Doesn't happen often enough to be a concern, but is something Ive noticed from time to time.

That happens to me occasionally as well. Normally when I get in, I press the power button and let the seat adjust while I get my seat belt strapped, then I'll push in the clutch and start the car, flip to Sport+ and blast off down the road like I'm Steve McQueen.

My car is a 201A package, so I have memory seats if that matters at all.

I think you guys should be taking the clutch pedal out of the equation.
If it's pressed enough to start the car, then it is depressed enough for all else.
Also, if you get in and hit the start button without starting the car, the seat will move forward.

Mine does this a bit as well. Its when you get out it goes further back than the normal easy exit. I can always tell because when i get back in it it is way further back before pushing the on/off button.

Mine does this about once a month, and since I'm the only one who drives it, I know the seat was never adjusted. I think of it as a "feature" of my car, along with the gauge lights not illuminating for about 30 seconds on startup sometimes and nav screen auto brightness being full dim sometimes.

Both my Mustang an F150 do it occasionally. I think, as others have stated, it seems to be when you are in a hurry.

I just hit the memory button and all good again and all good. Seat slides right into place again.

As Chef jpd mentioned, I don't think it has anything to do with the clutch, as my truck does it too.

Thanks, tried it today. Works great. I am not sure why I didn't try that previously. Though I never bragged about being the sharpest knife in the drawer

Tried what?
I always get in, press the button so the radio comes on, plug in the phone, and away we go
only times the seat has not moved back, is when I have mucked about with it. then just press the memory button 1 and job done.
As have memory button 2 set to park, dip the mirrors and raise the seat

OK, just so you know, not everyone does the same things you do when you get in your car. Believe it or not, I don't turn the radio off when I am exiting the car., power off, radio off, therefore no need to turn it on. I rely on my Bluetooth in the car, so no need for normal day to day stuff to plug in and charge my phone.
Just so you understand my intent with the post was to see If my car auto seat was working correctly. I never tried moving the seat forward without starting the car. Moving the seat forward w/o engaging the clutch and starting the car allows me to hook up the seat belt and I am in normal driving position to start the car, instead of sometimes having to stretch my 5'10" frame to comfortably depress the clutch.
Hopefully that clarifies what my post thanking a member for his/her suggestion.
