So since the premium models come with selectable drive modes which is known to effect throttle response, is this something that will be altered by tuning? For instance, if a custom tune is ordered, will the selectable drive modes alter the tunes in any way if you change the drive modes? Or is this something that tuners will be able to change as basically a tune swap on the fly?

I'm wondering how far the drive modes change everything. If they only change throttle response, and don't alter timing on the camshafts or anything, then it probably isn't that big of a deal. However, if each mode has its own tune and change the timing on the camshafts through the Ti-VCT, then maybe this will be a quick way for tuners to offer on the fly tune swaps? Pull up to a stoplight in your eco tune, swap to performance, and go type of thing. Anyone have any insight?

Throttle mapping (aka percentage of throttle opened per degree of pedal travel) is re-mapped on different driving modes. That should be able to work seamlessly with a tune that alters engine parameters.

The driving modes do not alter engine parameters.

Assuming the ECU tables are discovered and understood properly, one would assume a good tune would be able to alter all selectable drive mode throttle position sensor parameters. The steering effort changes will likely not be affected as those don't run through the ECU.

Will be interesting. I'd love it if you could flash a tune to one of the toggled drive modes. Leave one of the stock driving modes as one setting, and then have two different other tunes set for the other toggle settings.

You might want to see what the factory settings are like. I'd imagine that comfort and sport would offer an optimum range. Who knows, anything beyond the sport settings might be overly aggressive for throttle tip-in and drivability. Wouldn't want a digital pedal lol.
