Alright apologize for this one ahead... dont bang your head too hard after reading this...
2017GT... removed battery tray and the side access panel to install crank sensor.
When putting it back i realized the 3 nuts that were originally under the plastic battery tray that the 3 bolts to secure the tray werent there. figured they fell thru and on top of the fender liner..
looked for them couldnt find them..
I then ordered the battery support tray as they have the three nuts welded on already..
Battery Tray Support Bracket - Ford (FR3Z-10732-B)
It wont come in as its on back order right now.. but when it does im just curious does this bracket go directly underneath the battery tray? im not sure how it would secure itself..
As for the support bracket being accessible from the top also wouldnt make sense as it wasnt directly under the plastic battery tray when i removed it initially.
Some videos i saw mentioned this piece is underneath and accessed thru the fender liner. i dont recall seeing it when i was looking for the nuts originally.,.. there was no other hardware securing anything thats forsure...
So, how the fuck do i tighten down the plastic battery tray lol
I also got the three nuts...
2015-2020 Ford Battery Tray Nut - Ford (W520771-S300)
and put them inside the holes in the picture below.. but it doesnt do fuck all as the nuts arent welded to the metal below.
Do i need to feed them from above the fender liner??? or will that battery tray support bracket solve my problems.. lol
Picture below is what it looks like once the plastic battery tray is removed..
Also noticed this picture when looking for parts... it shows the metal battery support bracket directly under the battery tray
