I have about an inch long scuff on the glass or plexiglass(not sure which it is) of my RPM tachometer and I'm not sure if it can be buffed out. It isn't a scratch but like a thick line where someone rubbed something hard on it. I read that toothpaste may work to buff it out. Does anyone have any input on what I can do?

It is not likely you can polish it out. Always worth a try with a good plastic polish and I have has some good luck with Semi-Chrome polish.
Best bet is order a new lens cover for about $60.00

I'll see if I can find either of those somewhere and give it a go. I don't think I want to take apart the panel to replace it so hopefully it works.

Normally the panels are not hard to replace. I always print out the instructions and take my time doing it. Better than having a Ford mechanic do it that is on the clock.

Toothpaste! It worked like a charm! A dab of whitening toothpaste on the tip of my finger polished it right out with a few minutes of work. You can't even tell it was there before.

That's great! Glad you got lucky, I never seem to have that kind of luck.
