I've got a 2016 Mustang GT w/auto on order.

I'd like to use the SCT X4 with the preloaded tune first. In the future I would like to use the Steeda or Lund tune.

I have some questions regarding the adjustable options:

For the preloaded tune can I change the Fan Control? (Lowers the temperature at which the fans turn on.) I plan on using the Reische 170 thermostat.

What would be a good setting for street use for the Shift Pressure?

I assume others such as Axel Ratio, Tire Size, Speed Limiter can be changed?

I've called SCT and they really didn't know themselves. :(

I originally used my SCT canned tune while waiting for my Steeda tune. It may have been improved since then, but it left a lot to be desired.

If you're sure you're going to go with Steeda or Lund in the future, you're better off taking the price discount that comes from buying the combo of tuner and tune.

No, you can't change the fan speed. That is something that Lund bakes into the tune. As far as the gear ratio, you have to have the whipple flair tool to change that.

sct preloaded tune sucks and you better off leaving the factory tune.

I would disagree with that.
I noticed a lot better throttle response and much better overall drivability with the canned SCT tune. Then I moved on shortly after that and went to Bama. There tune seemed to work well and I noticed a big difference. Then I heard so much about Lund i switched to Lund. I used the SCT X4 on the Bama and Lund tune. Knowing I was going to be going the FF tune and eventually FI, I purchased the Ngauge and haven't looked back since.
Guess what I'm saying is let my extensive efforts and multiple $$$ be a lesson learned for you. Get the Ngauge and Lund tune and don't look back!!

What kind of improvement did Lund offer over SCT canned?

My post above was a continuous improvement process. Canned SCT vs Lund not even close. I don't have dyno numbers if that what you are asking but 40 years of driving high performance cars I can tell you don't waste time or money on other stuff. Lund and Ngauge.

Ive got an SCT X4, can I just get the $200 tune or do I need the Ngauge?

Am more interested in how the car drove and felt rather than dyno numbers.
