Scraped the rear

Have just seen the thread started by [MENTION=15204]Ian whu[/MENTION] and it looks like its catching... I scraped my off side rear panel and alloy yesterday while on holiday in Devon. :doh:

This car is far too wide for Dartmoor single track roads where the bloody locals bomb around at high speed and refuse to move over!

It's down to the metal so do you think this will this be repairable or am I looking at a new rear panel (with no doubt a six month wait for parts ) and alloy?

Decent bodyshop will be able to repaint that.

Give Mike from Modurstang a ring and he can put you in touch with Nick who does work for him. Nick is based just off the M1 near Northampton so should be fairly local for you and it isn't the long drive down to Modurstang.

Mine is in with Nick for repairing a down to metal scratch from being keyed at the moment and I'm due to get it back tomorrow. He has done quite a few S550's already and does a lot of other stuff for Mike on older Mustangs.

[MENTION=15204]Ian whu[/MENTION]. It may be worth a call to him and your insurer to see if you can use him rather than Ford for any repairs. I'd trust him more than a Ford bodyshop. It just depends if they will authorise the repair etc.

Alloy shouldn't be more than £70 fix, bumper is plastic not metal so that'll probably cost about £300 or so to fix

you could also try Customs Exotics, they do Top Quality work
but are based in Essex, not sure where you are based

Same as what I did reversing off my girlfriends drive. The cover up job is perfect; you literally can't tell there's a scratch there, even on the lines.

Alloy is 30-80 usually, depends where and who, there's mobile places that can do em too.

Bumper - £70 professional job done
Alloy - £30

Granted, it's a small business of a guy who I know so probably get unofficial mates rates or 'startup low cost' fees... but; easy fixes.
