little video showing connected to wifi and lack of updates

How very peculiar! Any other guys with Sync 3 want to check their settings to see what system setting their' on whether it's EU 4 / 2014 (F4 nav card id assume), EU 5 / 2015 (2016 cars), or EU 6 / 2016 (MY17s)

my car is supposed to be an my17 as it was only delivered in october i believe but its the first series with sync 3 so perhaps it should be the previous one not sure tbh.

Mines a My16, has F5 SD card... don't see any reason a Car built in 2016 shouldn't have F5 (or even F6) update... !

If you look at the top right of the NAV screen there is a value with a flag next to it that you can press and toggle what is displayed. Time of arrival, hours:minutes to arrival, miles to go.

Just checked my version is:

EU 4.14

Am puzzled, when you say the "wrong maps" did they have US Maps?

So I would guess as you have Android Auto, you have the latest version.
I think the latest update is just for Apple Carplay, but of course that involves a new USB port
might go onto the US side and see what Sync 3 version they have, as mine is Version 2.0 which includes Android Auto

IIRC you can have the most up to date system software, such as Android auto etc etc, but you can have out of date maps (4.14 -> f4 2014 card). I'm on an F5 car and my car was made, delivered etc before.

We could just be blowing this a lil out of proportion and Sync 3 is EU 4 is the most up to date maps... although, with it being 2014 I suspect not. :lol:

Iirc. Some of the US cars can't update to Apple car play withoutadditional hardware.

All EU spec MY17 car come with android auto and Apple car play.

What MY is yours? You might have the older version of sync 3

mine doesn't have apple car play at all but it does have android auto

you say that, but it found roads that the latest version map for Tom Tom only come up with "Unnamed Road"

Still comes up with half the places around me as empty, blank roads etc... especially around 'wall' in Lichfield.

For the US to get Android Auto on the MY16 and it says Apple Carplay (but you don't see that working as need a Hardware upgrade) they have to install Sync 3 Version 2.2
and they have to do it using a USB stick

So for Android Auto
US MY16 - Sync 3 Version 2.2
US MY17 - Sync 3 Version 2.0
EU MY16 - Sync 3 Version 2.0

Mine was built Oct and delivered Dec, so will have a look around on the system and see.

I use Android and the system works very well but oddly apart from a few apps the sat nav and phone blue tooth connection seem to do all I need. But I am still messing with the system so I may have missed something
