So sad that I have a car this nice and Ford refused to fix the only paint flaw on the car. ( The dreaded hood corrosion) So just wondering should I keep trying dealership after dealership or should I just suck it up a pay to have it fixed myself?

Were u still under the 3 year 36000 bumper to bumper because that’s the only way I think they’ll actually replace it. Honestly even if they did though chances are it would come back. If you really like the car and it’s something you’ll want to keep for a long time you may want to consider just replacing the hood and putting in a carbon fiber or fiberglass hood.

Your car is a beaut. Of course I’m partial to white. If the third picture is the extent of the damage I would find a good body shop and get an estimate for repairing it. Then compare the cost of the repair to the cost of a replacement.

I think I would just get it repaired and be done with it.

BTW, are those police pursuit wheels? If so, I would love to know the application, sizing, etc. Those look awesome...

EDIT: shoulda read the comments that came in while I was distracted...

You know, as an insurance adjuster rock chips are covered as comp loss, so depending on your comprehensive deductible might just be worth calling in a claim. No fault so no impact on your policy and 9 times out 10 damage like yours started from a chip. Just think real hard about when you might have heard that rock bounce off and get it taken care of.

Your car looks like if you slap some decals on, it could be a police cruiser, lol.

The wheels are actually from a Dodge charger. They are 18x8 +18 offset. I am using the factory lug nuts with Ford crown Vic center's. This winter I am going to have them widened to 10" . I am not very happy with the 8"

That white body with the black and chrome wheels makes me feel like I have to pull over and show my license and registration.

So you're the one who had the fake cop car mustang at Carlisle this year.

Coming from a world where people fake police cruisers out of former police cruisers all the time, I found myself at a bit of a loss for words.

Anyways, I thought part of the hood corrosion issue was to replace the hood as if you just repaint this, the problem will come back. Keep that in mind if you want to fix it yourself.

I just dropped my 15 off on the 21st with 75,000 miles to get the hood replaced under warranty. Mine didn't break through the paint yet like yours. I'd try another dealer.
