Hey all, new to the forum. Im swapping cams in a gen 2 coyote motor and was wondering if anyone had the instructions? I didnt get any with the purchase of the cams unfortunately. Any help would be appreciated. I've seen comp cams instructions but dont think its for gen 2 coyotes.

I've done my 3-valve cams, but not my coyote. Try posting your question in the 5.0 mod section. I know for my 3 valve I have a special valve spring compressor dedicated to that motor only. I also made up a fitting to apply compressed air into the cylinder to keep the valves up while doing springs too. Biggest thing is to keep the timings chains timed correctly. lots of people screw that part up.

If you are doing cams only (no springs) There are guys that cheat and back off on all cam journal caps, then draw them back down with the cap bolts, but that can be risky without being super careful. One guy said he tightened them all, then backed off the bolts one by one individually torqued them to the correct inch lb. I followed the ford service manual then eventually I did a built shortblock and again followed the Ford service manual which I highly recommend. Consider getting the service/assembly manual.
