So I’ve owed several Corvettes in the past as a matter of fact I traded one in for my new to me ’17 Ecoboost Premium - so I’m very familiar checking codes on them and where they show up on the dash - please advise me on what to look for on Fords since this will be my 1st time.

Umm, not exactly sure what you are asking.
The dash will have a CEL somewhere obvious when it comes on. I'm sure the owners manual would tell exactly where.
The OBD port is on the left side, under the dash, above the hood release.
To read the codes you should use a code reader. If you don't have one they're easy enough to find anywhere from about $20 to several thousand dollars depending on what you want it to do for you.
On older cars you could turn the ignition on/off for a prescribed number of cycles to make the CEL flash the codes. I'm pretty sure the Mustang is too sophisticated for that.
