As requested.

Must nearly be time for a new Mustang Scott, that ones been on the fleet for a couple of years now? And those wheels have seen some pain, I’ll take them off your hands for a nice price ;)

Funny, you say that Adam... we might just have a slightly newer one tucked away in our car park waiting for some goodies to arrive from the US.

I must say, Scott is a great guy to deal with!!

After looking at more pics of the wheels in 20" I have decided to go for them after all. they're gonna look great shod in Conti 5's and filling the arches once the Pedders and camber adjustable top mounts have gone on.

Let the mods begin!!

Ok, going to buy 9.5 and 10.5 x20 from Scott tomorrow once he answers my question regarding nuts and locks. Think I’ll get MPSS tyres. What it is the ultimate size for the wheels and the Mustang?

I assume I need four off tyre pressure sensors too??

Morning Nige,

We suggest front 255/35 R 20 and rear 285/30 R 20.

From our experience, Michelin Pilot Sport tyres are superb. Sport 4 S are suited to road use, good in the dry or wet. Sport Cup 2 are better for hard driving and if you're likely to do any track work. They are less good in the wet, but better in warm dry weather. I believe there is further information on both of these tyres on the Michelin website.

285 up front 305 at rear do it properly :)
305 is a tricky width to find a good looking profile.

I currently run a 305 30 20 in the rear, and im not happy with the amount of sidewall... looks too racecar and not enough muscle car. 305 35 is a LOT of sidewall, plus a relatively rarer choice (so not as many tyres available)

Im dropping to a 295 35 20 next time around, that gains almost a CM in sidewall.

295 35 20 seems to be recommended by a lot of people.

It was recommended to me before I bought mine, but I was desperate to be in the 300+ club. Haha!

I realise everyone has their own preference, and there is always scope to go wider or narrower, however RTR themselves recommend 255/35 R 20 on the front and 285/30 R 20 on the rear.

I have to be honest and say it seems like a bit of a strange recommendation.

The rolling circumference difference between the PP tyre size of 275 40 19 and 285 30 20 is 3.5% and gives a 2 mph speedo error at 60mph.

This size also makes the wheel/tyre combo smaller in the arch.

Whilst I 100% agree a lot is down to personal preference, this particular combo strikes me as a bit of a strange one.

I guess I need to get four new tyre pressure sensors too then? And I guess Fordparts is the place to get em?
