RTR Led grille opinions and data

So I am really wanting the RTR lighted grille for my 2018. Cannot think of a cooler option than that grille. But I also know about the lights being less than reliable. And for $550 just for the upper grille that is a lot of cash for a possible disappointment. So please if you have this grille, or know somebody who does, how long have you had it and are the lights still working? If not how long did they last before crapping out? From what I read it seems that more than half of these lights fail within 6 months. I am hoping that the input I can get here from this thread can show me otherwise. TIA

Love mine. Classifieds- someone has a grill posted and I have a new extra set of lights posted. Just sayin.... a lot less than $550 total

I’ve had them installed since they released for the 2018. I love them. The right side light had two bulbs went out sometime in between now and then but they’re so tiny I rarely notice even when they’re on.

Shame I have take them out this weekend due to my GT500 front bumper conversion!

As far as alternatives..,

Not sure if you’re concerned with getting official RTR parts but Ikon Motorsports has the same style for much cheaper.

The Ikonmotorsports one looks exactly like the one I see on eBay all the time. Although I have a white car I am not a huge fan of the bright white lenses when the lights are off. And the color shift one is pretty cool. I kind of like the RTR one, not because of the name, but because it is plug and play without stripping any wires. Plus the lenses seem to be smoked so when the lights are off they blend in better. I am not looking to cheap out on this I am just really concerned about the lights reliability. If a few people posted here that they have a 2015 or 2016 and have had the grille for 3 or 4 years and had no issues with the lights then I would be sold. Just not interested in having to replace the lights at $300 after a short period of time

Ah yeah I gotcha.

Yes the lens on the RTR one are smoked and they are plug and play. I’ve also seen the non RTR versions on eBay and I agree I’m not a fan of the bright while they’re off so totally valid! Also I didn’t realize the color shift grille required cable splicing.

All in all, if you have the cash I wouldn’t skimp. Like I said, I adore mine and I get compliments on them all the time but unfortunately they don’t fit in my new bumper.

Order is placed and it only took me 5 months to do it. I have been wanting this RTR grille even before I bought a Mustang. I saw a Mustang on my street about 3 months before I bought mine that had this grille. Loved the lights and researched. So this was a long time coming. BUT I do have another request. I see in some pictures that the grille has an RTR badge on the driver side. But I also see most grilles, including stock pics, that no badge is present. I kind of like the badge. Does this grille come with one? If not where can I source one? Thanks guys

Where I got mine. I dig the 350(R) style emblem. They used to have an ebay storefront but I guess they strictly operate out of the website now.

Essentially the same thing just it has an actual mount on it.

Mine came with a mount. They give you the option for the grille or the decklid/fender mount on the item page.

I'd bargain that MF is the supplier of the emblem for LMR anyway.

Yeah I just saw that. Now to decide if I want Ecoboost or Boosted. Like it really matters. Real question is do I want predominantly white or black colored badge

Placed my order at mfautdesigns for the white and black badge. The grille should be to me by Tuesday so hoping the badge doesn't delay too bad. I would like to install the grille next weekend. It's gonna kill me to have that grille and it not be on the car
