I think what you're feeling is the stock shocks. Stock GTs are pretty soft. The Steeda shocks and struts will firm it up. Don't just do the rears, do all four corners so the car will be balanced. Otherwise you will have a mismatch in dampening front to rear.
That's what I was thinking.
Yeah, actually just bought the pro-action shocks and mounts. The sale was too good to pass up!

Plus indy 500's with new 19in rims sometime soon and I should be golden

Well, I picked up a set, so thanks for your post danny0441. I'm a repeat Steeda customer and almost pulled the trigger on the sale priced non-adj Pro-Actions, but decided to roll the dice on these. I really doubt that they will be worse than the stock dampers, especially my non-PP ones. I'll post a review when I install them.

FWIW, RTR is not a AM house brand.

They're likely very similar in performance to a Koni yellow. No idea if the valve pack is significantly different (like Steeda's) or if they're just resprayed.

I think they are going to be valved differently, just from a proprietary standpoint. Whether the change is significant or more importantly, better or worse for my purpose remains to be seen. The adjustability of these dampers was the key. An unknown fixed rate would have been a no-go, at least until some reviews were out.

How many are running aftermarket shocks with the stock springs?

Any drawbacks?
I'll be using my stock springs with these and I'll see how it goes. I'm aiming for a Grand Touring/DD type ride. Not soft and floaty, but looking for more wheel control over typical small sharp bumps. I think another forum user had good results with the Steeda adjustables and stock springs from a comfort standpoint.

I'm hoping the damping rate on these shocks isn't too high for the stock non-PP springs.

I've ran the stock GT springs with the Steeda fixed dampers for a few months. The car drove and rode great...BUT, I just installed the BMR SP089/82's and I'm glad I did!!

You got these for a steal! Just checked them again and now their $811, double the price IIRC
