As in Route 66... Available on DVLA website £399... If anyone cares!
Not legal for any of us already in our cars or expecting delivery before September. Bloody bargain for those a bit further back in the queue, though.

I'd love that! Sadly mine will be a 16 not 66 so I won't be able to put it on the car :tsk:

Could put back collection till September :eyebulge:
Sorry am puzzled by this
I have bought a personalised plate,

LG55O GG

has zero to do with any year date, only problem i might get pulled for is the spacing, but as will have the originals its not a massive issue if i am told to switch them.
that's why you have to pay big money for them, as they are personalised plates

Yes, the 66 here has nothing to do with year plate. For example, I picked up M66 SNG from DVLA (for a car delivered this July) - the old-style year indicator is the 'M' - which is 1994, I think. Indeed, I thought that the DVLA won't release for purchase current-style year plates for '66' until next month (might be wrong)

In this case it does because this plate is in the new standard format. You can put an older plate (like a 55) on a newer car but you can't put a newer plate on an older car and make it look younger than it is.

The plate won't be available to buy until 17/05

You could always buy it, keep it on retention and then pop it onto your next Mustang!

Tempting...but I've waited long enough
I know that feeling only too well ! and I did think about putting it back for a 66 plate as that is my birth year, but bought a private plate any way with 66 in it :).

Haha nice :) I'm sure I'll find another one I like with 66 or even possibly V8 ;)

Thanks markleigh - this thread ended up costing me about two hours on the DVLA website yesterday... and £399 :headbonk:

Thought I'd post up the results of my research here, in case it helps Shanraf or anyone else to find a new plate. There are quite a few nice 66 plates coming up and my car is due after 17th May, so these are all fair game for those still awaiting delivery:

MS66 ANG - £1299
MU66 ANG - £799
MU66 TNG - £399
MU66 STG - £399
FD66 MUS - £399
FD66 MTG - £399
MU66 CLE - £399
YE66 LLO - £399
BU66 BEE - £399 (has to go on a Camaro though)

Some of those might actually make a good investment, as DVLA prices on good plates seem to be lower than the market value further down the line.

Also spotted a few wildcard plates that are available now:

MU57 NAG - £599
V8 FPO - £399
FD64 MUS - £399

Anyone want to guess which one I went for? :)

When is your car due, as the 66 plates can't be put on a car registered before 1/9/16?

Out of those plates i'd have gone for YE66 LLO, if I'd bought a TY
