After blowing up my factory clutch, I got a McLeod RST clutch and a McLeod aluminum flywheel installed. Broke the clutch in properly and all was good. Went to another road course (The Ridge in WA) and managed to get around 3 1/4 hrs of track time over the course of the day.
Now the clutch is not feeling right. On cold mornings when I start it in gear the starter is lagging as the clutch is not fully releasing. Once the car is up to running temp it is better, but still an issue. Stop lights can be difficult and when you put it in first it really hammers and the car tries to go forwards for about a second.
There is no doubt the clutch is not fully releasing and is dragging. Why? There are about 3000 miles in the clutch now and the slave cylinder what replaced with a new Ford OEM unit when the clutch was replaced.
I am wondering if the splines are somehow full of crap and not letting the friction discs float?
I have contacted McLeod today and waiting for an answer, just wanted to see if anyone else has had this.
