Thank you very much for the info!

What sway bars did you have on the car when you tried this kit?

Steve i tried the Steeda Bars and Eibach

settings on my bars are full stuff up front and middle or least stiff out back. I really like to tune the car with the shocks and springs first before making drastic bar changes

also note more compression on the KW/Roush units give lots of front bumpsteer on a wavy bumpy roads. might be fine for the track but not daily use around here. I found for good balance my settings above worked great and i was very happy.

ok here is how i set these cars up. I set the rear height collar at .65 with a caliper so this is where my ride height was set. the fronts i had the car dropped about the same as an Eibach Pro kit, i didnt slam it down as i wanted some suspension travel to get a feel for the kits.

My favorite setting which i would call a track setting is the following
Front Compressior, turn to full hard and back off 4 clicks, rebound turn to full hard and back off 5 clicks
rear compression turn to full hard and back off 6 clicks, rebound turn to full hard and back off 7 clicks

the car felt awesome but isnt very DD comfortable in NYC but on a good road the car felt incredible and like a real sports tuned car for once. it takes some playing around with what you like.

For DD use the settings that worked best were
Front. Compression to full hard then backed off 11 clicks, rebound to full hard then backed off 10 clicks
rear compression to full hard and backed off 10 clicks and rebound full hard and backed off 8 clicks.
I figure I should post an update since I have some time under my belt with the new suspension. I did my first autox on the new setup last weekend but in no way feel like I have the right settings for that activity figured out yet. However, on the street I feel pretty well dialed in now.

Street:
Front - Compression +5 from soft (-7 from firm), Rebound +7 from soft (-9 from firm)

Rear - Compression +4 from soft (-8 from firm), Rebound +7 from soft

Rides great and feels tight and sporty but not on a ragged edge. While I have work to do on figuring out autox settings I really like this suspension. I think it is going to work out nicely for the class I'm running in.

I tried softer compression settings like you note for DD use but it is too soft for my tastes on the pretty good roads I have around here. It was a nice cushy ride but too much dive and squatting going on. Plus, just a few more clicks of compression like I am set to really wakes up the suspension. Kinda like you must have found with the track settings you listed

Steve from your post i think we can assume the KW versions and Roush might have a spring rate or valving difference. I wonder if Roush has a special design to spec because with the street specs i posted for the Kwv3 there is zero nose dive, squat or softness it just feels awesome. I sold my kit to my best friend and regularly drive his car and he still has the settings i suggested for daily use. I doubt roush or Kw would ever reveal to the public if their kits differ and how. I tested both but i did not copy the settings between kits to even know if they felt the same or not.

I finally had a chance to get into the KWv3 settings after they were installed this Feb. The ride was a bit off balance and I was curious what the 'out of the box' settings were from KW. I found that by turning compression and rebound back to full hard and counting clicks, the settings were not balanced at all (some compression was set at -2 some at -11 with no pattern).

I can't tell if this was from the product boxing or the install (where they were varied), but i recommend anyone having variable compression/rebound coilovers installed that you specifically check what you want the settings to be during the install.

I took some guidance from MustangCollector on the DD driver settings to at least have a balanced place to start from ...

> Front: Compression to full hard then backed off 10 clicks, rebound to full hard then backed off 9 clicks
> Rear: compression to full hard and backed off 9 clicks and rebound full hard and backed off 7 clicks.

After driving with new wheels (MRR FS01) and tire (MPSS), the difference in setting was night and day. Glad i went with adjustable coils, now i need to start tweeking them with some drive learnings.

Been a while for this thread...

I'm still on my kit and did very well with it in autocross and a few trackday events last season. There are some new allowances for the 2017 season that will increase the grip levels in STP so I wanted to stiffen up the suspension as best I could within reason for what these shocks can handle. Even with last year's rules I felt the front springs were too soft for what I was doing.

So I upgraded the front springs with Hyperco 60mm x 7" x 450 lb-in race springs topped with Vorshlag's awesome S550 camber plates. This combo also took another 3 lbs off each strut package so that's nice too!

I haven't done much with it other than put it together, eye ball a quick alignment and go for a short drive on my all-seasons but man, this setup feels wonderful already!
