Alright so I was searching through Craigslist, and found a Roush Catback that came off a car being sent to Lebanon Ford in Ohio to be turboed. So I picked it up for cheap. Go to slap it in, and I get to the mandrel tubing which had been welded in to xpype then cut off. Great so I drove to work with no mufflers letting everyone hear the 8 bald eagle war chant. Later at lunch I got to an exhaust shop to help me weld the rest back on. The only welded thing is the end where the xpype meets the tubing. The rest is clamped like they want you to have. It was great until I noticed on bumps with the radio off I could hear a nice clank so as my detective skills pointed me to my exhaust hitting the body etc. I looked under, and on the drivers side there was maybe an 1/8 inch in clearance so thats the culprit I thought. Turns out to get it lower I had to finagle all the hangers, and some. I came to the conclusion I needed longer brackets that mount to the rear crossmember (I think that's what it was dont kill me). Has anyone else had a situation like this? Should I try pushing the exhaust closer towards the rear end to get it to miss the swaybar or are there longer exhaust hangers for lets say a lowered car? I hope one day I can lower it, but not if my suspension decides its jealous of my exhaust, and has a jam session. Thanks for the assumed future help!
