Hi all,

It always confused me as how I could easily find 700lb spring rates for my 2300lb miata and nothing nearly as stiff for the mustang.

This will be my first mustang and I want it to be as stiff as the miata. Is there anything like that available?

I've spent hours researching and was never happy with what I found, so I figured I'd ask you guys.

Thank you in advance!

P.S. Base GT/PP on order - I have driven it and I liked how stiff it was but I'd like something that will hold up to heavy track use with stickier tires.

The market has been surprisingly slow to respond to the S550. My guess is within another 4 months or so we'll have more feedback and experience in the suspension realm

Koni should be coming out with stuff soon. I'd wait for those.

You can't compare numbers like that. Leverage ratios have drastic effect on the actual spring rate at the tire. A 250lb spring mounted on a strut might be supporting a 1000 pounds at ride height and a 1000lb spring might be supporting a 750 pounds at ride height through some linkage. The strut spring will have four inches of preload and the linkage spring 1/4 inch of preload. You have to compare spring rates what comes stock to what is offered not to some other car.

First off, exactly what 908ssp said.

Second, I've been in touch with Ground Control and they will have springs and coil over kits available late spring/early summer. Their kits are custom and they will tailor to meet your needs.

What 908ssp said never occurred to me and it makes perfect sense.

I will keep waiting for those coilovers to come out.

Bluestang, the CorteX looks great, I will bookmark that!

I'm glad I asked this, you guys have been very helpful.
