Returning to main screen from the menu

Hi all, I reset my oil change light today by working through the menu settings. I now have an issue with returning to the main screen. I am stuck on the menu list. The owners manual states to hold down the left arrow key to return to the main screen and I have tried that but does not work. Has anyone had this issue or am I doing something wrong. I haven't really scrolled through the menu before.
