Have you gone through TRS yet? If not, get in as soon as possible and there are people there who can/will help you. Also look into Marine and Family Services (I think) and they have resume writing workshops or have people who can give you pointers and help write your military training and accomplishments into a language civilians can speak.

I've always been taught to try to remove myself from the resume, in that I should avoid using "I" or "me" and the various other forms. Employers hate reading resumes, and on average spent less than a minute reading them before classifying them as yes or no. That said, my recommendation would be bullet points. Quick and to the point.

Actually I like the resume you have posted. I would expand some of the statements in your billet as accounting chief to emphasize what you did and how you went about it. Overall short and to the point. Also you showed that you received a certificate, but I would put in the job specific training and any leadership courses that apply as well.

Lastly I have no Idea of where you are looking to go to work other than in a financial capacity. But as a heads up, Oilfield companies love love love ex-military in the Louisiana Texas and Mississippi areas and I am certain if you looked at chevron's shells bp and some of the service companies websites you will find job listings that will meet what you are looking for.

Btw if you are ever in South Lousiana holler and Ill buy you a round. My thanks for men like yourself and your brothers that have and still are serving.

keep it to one page and everything you need to say short and precise is my advice. bullet points make it easier to read too. there was nothing more annoying than getting resume's that were 2-4 pages long when I hired people once upon a time. yes it gets hard to get it all on one page but as long as it's clean, precise, and to the point.

I read a lot of resumes. The 1 page rule has been dead for 5-10 years.

It is all about experience. You need to be able to show your experience, and tie that experience to revenue growth some how. Make sure you fully understand the job you are applying for, and have items on your resume that speak to your value you would ad for that company.

Show you understand the bigger picture in terms of company goals.

Sad to say, but industry "buzz words" are what get you noticed by the bots that scrape resumes for key words. I never hime from a resume. I use it to ask questions during the interview. Make sure if it is on your resume it is true, and you can speak to it.

you can get all that on one page. It might depend on area but anything more than 1 page is frowned upon. They even still teach 1 page in business schools. Now outside of business might be different if lets say teacher job or something but typically for business 1 page. I've never heard of 1 page rule being dead though. I'm just glad I don't have to worry with it since I'm self employed now! lol

either way get to the point and you'll be fine.
