Resistors for LED switchbacks

Hey everyone,

I have LED switchbacks with plug in resistors. One side started not working yesterday. While messing with it and trying to determine if it was the resistor or the light itself, I broke one of the contact legs on the resistor connector. So I ordered a new set of bulbs and plan on taking the resistors out. Pulling the resistor connector out of the stock light socket, I found a good amount of rust caused by the resistor connector contact leg and was not too happy about that.

My question is, are the resistors that you have to splice into your wiring decent? I am worried about how well those splices will hold. Anyone that has experience with them let me know. Also, if I decide to get another set of plug in resistors, how could I try to decrease moisture ingress? Would some silicone placed around the connection give enough protection? Of course there is dust and debris accumulation to worry about, but I cannot think of anything else. Don't know how well would taping the connection help with that.

Another way to take care of the hyperblink is disable it in the computer. Have you looked at modifying As-Built information in our DIY section here on the forum? With a free program (FORScan) and an OBDII adapter you can go in and disable this so it blinks normal. The only down side is if a turn signal bulb does go out, it won't hyperblink to alert you. Thanks. I actually reprogrammed my Sync 3 and disabled some things this past weekend using Forscan. I might go that route, but it is good to know that one of the lights is not working with that audible indication.
