Why in the world would you let them run your credit for a car that didn't exist yet? How did they talk you into that?
My plan when going in to the dealer was to get a car delivered. I'm a very impatient person. Didn't want to wait 8to 12 weeks. But the car I was looking for my dealer had on order and the car was do in that next week. So I told them I could get 2.5% from my bank he said he could beat it. I never ran a credit with my bank or credit Union. But I do know what they did have for rates. My dealer was about to match the rates and actually bet it a little. With this it just makes the whole transition a little easier. But with the hold I'm going crazy!! In the end its not a big deal. Maybe I can get a better rate.

I can sympathize with you folks waiting on your new car. I understand the concerns.

My car was built on 2/17. It arrived today at my dealer. I posted a couple pics in week 2/16 thread.

I did do an inspection to some degree, rear window, panel fits, seat leather - all looked great I am happy to report.

So for what it's worth, the cars which are being shipped may pleasently surprise you.

Mine has 89 miles on it which I assume was done by Ford QC. I know it wasn't done at the dealership.

Hopefully most will be pleasantly surprised docbog, I picked up my car on the 17th.

Not a single panel is aligned including rear glass, well except the windshield haha

I have rattles in various locations and some wind noise, probably caused by misalignment

Started to hear some excessive turbo noise today @215miles

I should have known better than to take delivery.

My dealers CSM actually tried to brush me off initially and tell me that all the cars have offset alignment on purpose for aerodynamic purposes........

I would say why people are not happy are for the following reasons.

Cars were finished in the first two weeks of February and went on hold for reasons that are still unknown. The only thing we know is it could of been or was a Quality Control. However vehicles built after 2/10 were shipped out. Which leads to another concern.

Why are those cars shipping and there is no rush to ship out the cars that have been stalled? It's fine if they continue production as normal, but a whole month to finally release the cars on hold is a little long. Now lets air it on the side that they thoroughly checked them for problems. Shouldn't they get a priority shipping to dealerships because this was an unexpected stoppage on the plant's part.

Another problem is this, other members have already had various issues with their vehicles (maybe it's a minority or a majority, it's hard to tell without a nation wide poll). But if members part of holds receive their cars in less than perfect stance, then that's an outrage. No vehicle ever should be shipped with issues, but to have a hold and a month time to ensure the vehicles are perfect and still have issues? Absurd.

So bottom line, the people are not happy because of the lack of information. Even the "higher ups" who had contacted the plant know less or nothing compared to what has been "found out". So why is it the plant cannot give out a correct or real information? That makes people question Ford's credibility.

So people still are not happy because those who don't have a weight, are still getting cars with issues.

While people may seem impatient, some of them are generally concerned receiving a car that will then have to be repaired even after this long wait. Which while you are right, a rental should of been included, doesn't mean that we should have to prepare to receive a less than perfect car. And for those that this has happened to, I imagine are not happy at all. You buy a new car because it's what you want/new, or because you don't want a car you'll have to fix right away.
Please check my signature, I know all about the QH and the lack of information concerning the "whys" of said hold. I am also well aware of alignment issues of previously delivered vehicles. What I don't understand is the assumption that our held cars are going to be delivered with the same issues and people jumping to reasons to cancel their orders due to the condition of someone else's car. To think that this hold is anything more than a simple heat shield or something catastrophic without any viable information is grasping at straws looking for something to be up in arms about.

I guess what I don't get is being upset about something that hasn't happened and the assumption that it will. Rest assured, our cars will be delivered and we'll all have the opportunity to inspect them prior to taking delivery. If the car doesn't meet your expectations, refuse delivery. It's that simple. Non visible warranty issues can happen no matter if you special order or if you buy from dealer stock, on any make/model.

"If the car doesn't meet your expectations, refuse delivery": which I will do if I have to.
My GSM has already had to deal with several dealer cars with panel alignment problems which could not be completely fixed. The dealership has lowered the asking price significantly. He said that potential customers are already coming in and making comments about checking alignment before anything else.
He has no problem with me walking away from my order if the car comes in with non-fixable problems.
I hope that having my vert on hold for a full month will give Flat Rock enough time to try fix the problems...or (yah...right)...start a new priority 1 assembly to build me a car with fewer problems.

My buddy's GT just caught fire on the highway a few hours ago... It's totally ruined. I'm starting to wonder if it is something heat shield related. :(

Let's get back on track for this thread!!! Will any one who had their car 'held' from the first ten days of February, but has subsequently gotten it delivered, PLEASE examine your car and let the rest of us know what you might notice.
Was there any misalignment of panels? If so, that means that Flat Rock held our cars for weeks to fix some problem(s)...but without checking for other problems. Did you notice any apparent 'fixes' that might have been done?

Please go to or start another thread for ANY OTHER discussion...let the Four Thousand of us get the information we have tried to get out of Flat Rock without success!

If Ford would come out and say what the hold was for there would be no more rumors. The longer before the cars are released, the more speculation.

Also, would be nice to find out when car may get here, so we could make an educated decision on next move.

Not much to ask for 40K+++++

I don't think any of us that were affected by the hold have actually received our cars yet. Mine was finally released and now in transit but is still about ten days from delivery. This thread is just a little early at this point.

My mistake.
No worries, LHousePhoto. :)

Rachel, How many (rough estimate) of the 4000 are being released to awaiting shipment each day?
I don't have access to that information, NFS3; I am continuing to see orders released from the plant and shipped though. :)
