I just painted mine with VHT header paint for now until I get a new exhaust.

^ under $10 can of paint.

OR, and flame suit on, get a can of black plastidip for $7. A bit easier to apply than paint since you dont have to be as careful since excess peels/rubs off. MANY people have done exhaust tips with no bad results. The tips don't get hot enough and the rubber dip should be good up to above 300 degrees. I HIGHLY doubt the tips get near that hot.

And you can peel it off later.

This had been recommended to me but I was concerned with exactly what you mention. I autocross regularly and drive hard enough at times I just figured to be safe and use the paint. Considering before too long I like most will be scrapping the stock exhaust for an upgrade I wasn't worried about being able to remove it.

Found a local shop that had some and had them replaced today. Happy with the result. This will hold me until I decide on an exhaust replacement.

Thanks for sharing the pictures and I think this looks great. Any possibility to share the local shop info..would they be willing to ship to NJ ? Are these clamped on or welded.

Thanks !

...nice, I have been wanting black chrome tips...so I painted mine with a few light
coats of the headlight tinting spray.... they looked good.

I then steel wooled the ends so they are slightly lighter. sorry no pics.

These are welded. Check around your local custom exhaust shops. They can probably do it, and have the tips available.

Save a bunch and just use plasti-dip. :). Perfect use for it.

While plastidip is a great option for that, I know some people like myself are looking for different/larger tips in black so plastidip wouldn't be much help in that situation. But if all you're wanting is for the tips to be black and you don't care about the size/style, then yes, it would be perfect for that.

I just resorted to it when I switched from the FRPP Sport to Touring and had to give up the black since you (for some illogical reason) can only get them when buying the whole catback and not just axle back.
