Rental for the week, my GT-H

Very nice. How does the rental work (to get one of those particular cars)? Do you need to be a VIP with Hertz or something?

Detroit Metro Airport Hertz told me all I need is $ 400,00 rental fee and
$ 85,00 insurance per day and I can have the car. :eyebulge:

Do discounts or promo codes apply to the Stang? I know Discover and USAA both have deals with Hertz for a discount off your car rental.

Yes you can, I used my AAA discount plus most my Hertz gold points and got the car for just under $800 for the week. As far as insurance, if your normal auto insurance policy covers you for rental, you do not need to purchase it from Hertz or any other rental agency. A lot of people give rental car companies $$ because they don't realize that.

It's not a bad deal at $700. A Mustang GT will run you $80-100 a day.

Just courious, some of you guys that are more knowledge about these cars than me. The hertz GT-H is based of the performance pack, with an automatic,correct? It just hit me that when I opened the hood that it has no strut tower brace,? which is standard on all performance pack Mustangs. So now I'm courious as to the gears, are they the 3.73 or 3.55 maybe even the 3.31? I'm just asking because I really like how this auto shifts and down shifts automatically in sport+ mode. Not sure if it's a tune from Shelby or just the way a stock GT auto drives out? It's been so long sense I've driven a stock GT let alone an auto I'm not sure what to make of it.
I will say the paddle shifters are something to get used to, kids a learning curb the way they work.
Edit; would like add it does have line lock and track app's, which I thought were only PP cars?

Lol it is tough,,, but after the walk around with hertz guy this car going back on Saturday exactly as received,,, except for some missing tread!!! :ford:

Surprised they don't get the tread depth gauge out before releasing the car.

I return the car today to head back up north, just to see my 350 and PP to be sitting in the garage for the rest of the winter ...:frusty:

If you do rent one of these, do be prepared for check in also. It's going to take a few minutes. Hertz was very thorough to make sure NO Shelby parts were removed and replaced. They really didn't check tire wear as the guy told me that's part of the expensive rental cost and expect it.

I had to add hood pins and hood strut just to put my mind at ease
