Recaro Seat Swap Will It work? HELP!

Hey all I have a 2016 PP with the regular cloth seats. Long story short I have a friend who is selling his car that has recaros and he asked if I wanted to swap seats with him before he sells it and I give him some cash on top. I want to do the swap but I noticed that my regular cloth seats move with a motor while the recaros are 100% mechanical. I know the Recaros will work in my car but will the cloth seats work in his car? How will they move in his car? Anyone done this swap before? Please advise!!!

In theory, just unbolt both seats, unplug the connectors, and swap them, the connectors for any electrical stuff in the seats would most likely swap straight over, and the seat tracks should both bolt to the floor of either car in exactly the same fashion....all recaro seats are manual only....

That's what I figured but I wanted to make sure that his car would have something I can plug the base cloth seat wiring into.

You will be able to plug in the wiring connector for the airbag.

The 4 base mounting points will be the same, so that won't be an issue.

Why don't you just drive to your mates house, take the correct Torx socket for the mounting bolts and just swap one of the front seats over to test it out?

Obviously unhook your battery whilst you do this to avoid throwing an Airbag fault light when you disconnect your seat for removal.

That's what I figured but I wanted to make sure that his car would have something I can plug the base cloth seat wiring into.

Unfortunately I don't believe there is a wiring harness to power the seats in a factory Recaro equipped car (only for airbags).

You will have no problem putting the Recaros in your car (I did the same with mine), but again there is no factory wiring harness in the Recaro equipped cars to power your seats. I found this out after I sold my factory power seats to an individual who had Recaros and wanted to switch. There may be a way to wire them up, but it won't be plug and play to my knowledge.
