Recaro Seat Covers? Again.....

Hello All !

I'm new to M6G - trying to revive old hijacked (and ignored) threads from '15 and '16. I'm posting in "general forum" since Recaros are available in several S550 models.

I've had a 2011 Mustang GT 5.0 for a while, I just received my new '19 GT350 last month! Performance blue + white stripes + CF dash + handling package. My first goals have been to get it protected from daily wear/tear: Xpel PPF, RokBloks, SlipLo on the splitter, and ceramic coating, so far.

I'm most frustrated that I can't locate anyone that produces "custom fit" seat covers for the Recaros. (On a friend's '17 GT350, the Recaro bolster stitching and logo lettering are splitting and fraying - his Ford dealer won't cover warranty cuz it's "normal wear/tear") I've searched "endlessly" online and called several of the major outlets (CoverKing, CoverCraft, CalTrend, Shear Comfort, CarID, Wet Okele, etc...), and no one makes custom fitted covers for the OEM Recaros. With all the other car brands & models using Recaros, why isn't someone entrepreneurial enough to make seat covers for them?

Does anyone know where I can get "custom fit" Recaro seat covers? If not, at least a well made, well fitting "universal fit" seat cover? Neoprene preferably.

I can select "GT Recaro" for the S550 at Katzkin. Not sure what the covers entail, but they should be able to answer your questions about what's included.

Wet Okole doesn’t list the Recaros as an option on their site, but they do make them for regular GT Recaros. I had to contact them directly. You may want to do the same to see about the GT350 Recaros.

Thanks to Cobra Jet and Tokuzumi for the Katzkin lead! Talked w rep there. They weren't aware of the subtle differences between leather Recaros in GT and Bullitt and the cloth/Alcantara recaros in GT350 (mainly higher and stiffer thigh and chest bolters). I explained that I didn't need new permanent covers. Instead I want well fitting removable covers that protect during daily driving, but I can remove for tracking when I need the "stickiness" of the Alcantara to keep me in my seat during hard cornering. They're investigating and "will get back with me".

Talked with Matt at Wet Okole about month ago. He never mentioned they did covers for the more "luxurious" leather GT & Bullitt Recaros. I would guess it should be a fairly easy mod to their current templates for my GT350 seats. I'll re-connect and see what he has to offer. Thanks ManBearPig!

Really appreciate your guys input! I'll keep the thread alive for all the other frustrated Recaro owners.
