I've got the cloth Recaros and, although I like the butt traction they give, I'm fed up with the cheap ass quality of my PP2 interior. Also, my kids get in the back and every time their little feet hit the seat back, it leaves dust that must have originated in the Sahara desert, miraculous in it's penetrating and staying power (that's what she said). I picked up some under-50-mile leather takeoffs from eBay, front and rear, and will undertake this conversion. Anyone done it?

Alright, my take offs were delivered today, I plan to do the rear and then the front. First questions now that I'm really looking at. If I use a trim tool to pry the plastic cover off of the seat belt guide where it says "AIRBAG" will I find a screw to remove the guide or, ya know, get a face full of AIRBAG? And I assume that the plastic holes at shoulder level just separate and pop out? If that's it, this is gonna be cake!

I just logged on to post a similar thread, thankfully you've already done it. Please post pics of your progress!

Btw, does anyone know where you can purchase OEM Red Leather Recaro Covers? Anyone possibly have a part number? I've checked ebay but no luck.

I haven't done it, they are sitting in my garage. I'll definitely post pics.

Attacked the rears today, it was ridiculously easy. Fronts tomorrow. I didn't even remove the seat backs, I have the folding (maybe everyone does?) and just slipped them off and the new ones on. May need some minor adjustments, but otherwise very simple. Everything has Velcro or reusable plastic latches.

So besides the seats and else inside the car would have to be upgraded to raise it to a premium interior?

Fronts done and back in. The fronts are a bit more difficult, but easily doable, just have to have your time. I have no experience doing seats before, but these are clearly designed for ease of assembly. Only casually was the seat height adjuster handle, I try pulling it away from the seat because it was rubbng, turns out the trim wasn't seated correctly. The crappy plastic handle pretty much exploded in my hand. My fault. I haven't driven yet, but the feeling is decidedly more upscale and I don't feel as stuck TO seats in a uncomfortable way, but still stuck IN them the way I want to feel. I feel like for $270 and 5 hours of trial and error this is a no brainer.
