Would anyone else like to see an rear under-tray for the standard car like the GT350 under-tray / diff cooler? Obviously it would not incorporate the diff cooler and ducting for it, but I would have thought something to smooth out the rear-end under the car would work wonders for aerodynamics / highway fuel economy and even have lift / downforce benefits.

Seeing it on the GT350 reinforces this thinking, but I also would have thought it would be a cheap thing to do on the standard car to get some real-world benefits.

I have a similar car (in respect to the underside) a 2002 Ford Falcon with IRS, similar size, made by Ford, and it has basically a big scoop at the rear on one side (probably would be ok with a muffler on each side) where air can just scoop up into the rear bumper. I have often thought of making a panel to smooth this out and remove the sail-effect it likely has.

Thoughts?

I'd like to see it. It looks cleaner and has obvious aero benefits. I wonder if any aftermarket is developing this yet.

Sorry for the late reply, I must work too much, time just buzzes on by.

You guys have the same thinking as I in this regard, great to see! It is a shame this isn't more of a thing.

908spp what sort of tangible benefits do you get with that sort of extreme under-tray? Is it strictly racing benefits?
