I'm looking at replacing rear deck speakers. Will I need any connectors or will the oem work on aftermarket speakers?

Hey,
the after market speaker won't plug it to the factory harness.

The way I did it:
I cut the basket and magnet from the factory speaker, leaving as much of the positive n negative wires as possible.
I then bolted the aftermarket speakers to the Factory "ring" which was the only thing left from the speaker after I cut out the center.
Then I solder the positive n negative leads ,that are still connected to the factory female plug, to the aftermarket speakers.
I then bolted the new aftermarket speaker, ( which are bolted to the factory rings )
and plug the speaker w/ the factory plugs.

I hope all that make sense :)
