All, nothing track/performance related, but would like to be able to fold down the rear seats from the trunk...most cars have a lever or knob on each side to accomplish this so you don't have to get inside the car to release. I would imagine the regular Premium Mustangs have this, anyone do a retrofit yet for the GT 350? Pretty sure there are already mounting holes in our trunks...

I don't see any inconvenience in having to go inside the car, maybe once in a blue moon, to release the seats ? How many times you need to do this in a car like this ?

I wonder if you remove the seat backs, maybe release the Velcro at the bottom of the seat cover, pull it off so you can see clearly how the lever is actuated, you could probably install another pull string accessible from the trunk, as long as you know which direction to pull it, this shouldn't be too hard to accomplish

Funny enough, this was one of the first things I looked for after opening the trunk when I first went to see a Shelby on the dealer lot. It was a bit of a surprise that no release was in the trunk. Seems like an overbite by Ford engineers.

Yep, me too. The company really cheaped out on the Shelby's. To get the box with the splitter out of the trunk I had to move the drivers seat forward and wedge myself in to get to the stupid release.

Earl & GTthree I'll check it out and post the results. Can almost guarantee that knowing Ford it's only a mater of getting the cable and handle from a premium GT as these cars are all "pre drilled"

Wriggly you're right seems Ford used the "lighter weight" argument to add less to the GT 350....but what an engine...smoking sweeeet:):)

I had an FRS, and it had a release from the trunk. That was a lightweight car. Built to be lightweight and they still added a release in the trunk. However, it kinda sucked. Upon putting the seats back up, the pull tab would get wedged into the corner of the seat and disappear from the trunk. That has a strap that was anchored to the lever, maybe you could fashion something similar?

Hey, I'm just glad the seats even fold down! Had an Evo IX (which will always have a place in my heart), and it didn't even have fold down seats.

Good idea, I'm going to check with my Ford parts guy to see if the standard release hardware is available and how much $$. I'm sure it wouldn't be too complicated to add. Will let you guys know what I find and post results.

Most of the time you will need to adjust front seat backs to get the rear seat all the way down plus the rotation is into the car so interior releases are a natural fit.

My daily driver has only trunk releases and the seats are so far into the trunk I have to strain to drop them in.

Hence IMO interior release from a design standpoint is the best option (why not have both options is better but that's not the original discussion)
