Hi Guys,

I've bought some hexis tint film and thanks to Kristian87 i've got some stencils for the rear lights.

The two rolls of tint film i have are red/orange and red.

I've made some test sets of both colours and will be testing them later. This is due to the Oracal tint film (032 for reference) sold by Anchor Room (Brilliant as it is!) is too thick, and dark for the orange indicator and makes them virtually invisible, and even less so with sidelights running!

If you'd like a set of either colour please drop a message here.

Two different rolls - Red on the left, red orange on the right.

Red/orange set:

Red orange and red sets (they alternate in colour, so top row is red, second is Red/Orange, third is red, fourth is red/orange)

and for reference, the two colours stuck on my window (lol)

Hi Steve.
Is it fairly easy to apply without any specialist equipment? If so i could be tempted with the red set.
Thanks
Nick

I had a go at installing mine...and gave up after 3 attempts. no specialist equipment needed, soapy water and a hair dryer is all you need. Does require skill and patience though!

Ended up taking to a place that specialises in vehicle wrapping, cheap as chips & did a much better job than me! Takes no more than an hour.

Hi Nick,

It's just taken me 45minutes to install these on my lights which included removing my old tints.

You'll need:
1) hairdryer or heat gun (low heat setting)
2) squigee or a credit car wrapped round a cloth
3) soapy water

Method:
1) clean surface
2) apply a light bit of the soapy water on the lense
3) apply a light bit of the soapy water on the tint (after peeling the backing off)
4) line tint up (the water will allow it to be slick)
5) heat the surface up
6) use the squigee to push the water out
7) remove air bubbles with squigee
8) sorted repeat 5 times.

I've reinstalled the lights on the car (as i wanted to install it inside anyway) and i've done this a few times it took about 1hr to remove and reinstall the lights so a 2hr job in total.

I've got videos on facebook of the comparison between the Oracal 032 and my tint. The Indicators are far far far brighter than the Oracal tint film, and whereas i do love the orcals colour, and how it looks on the car (I cant comment on this red it's definitely more 'race red' coloured as i haven't seen them in the light... The oracal has a huge floor that you can't see the indicators!
These the indicators on a manders scale of brightness are atleast 50x brighter.

Okay so these are a couple of videos i've got from facebook:

1) daytime video with the new tints on BOTH lights
https://www.facebook.com/MandersMus...ref=gs&dti=2404893063068599&hc_location=group

2) night time video with the passanger side (left on screen) with oracal032 (anchor room) tint kit, and right side with my tint kit
https://www.facebook.com/MandersMustang/videos/517279385317379/

I'm comfortable now with letting other users have these kits should they wish to purchase one as i previously didn't want to sell these without knowledge of whether they'd work or not -
v8hgt if you'd like a set drop me a pm :)

3 meters of tint ordered, about half of it already spoken for. If you're in for an order, drop me a line here, already had a few guys install theirs and have been impressed including Greg C from here :)!

Good on ya Manders for sorting this...

Your thread needs pics with some close ups ;) lights on/off and in the daylight rather than night.

If you had facebook you'd be able to see the vids... I do really need to sort a proper "for sale" thread. rather than this one

Just wondering, what are the results like when using a hair dryer, or am I better off picking up a cheap heat gun? If using a heat gun, what kind of temperature would be recommended?

Hair dryer is fine, no difference. The adhesive is sticky, and everyone else who's previously installed did so with a hair drier, it's mainly for evaporating the water when squigeeying (or credit card with tape on it) the water out. It's not like vinyl wraps where the heat expands it so it can be heat shrunk around the object.

I'd advise, in this weather, to remove the lights and do it inside. :)
