My wife is 5'4" and her head was resting against the rear window glass when she was sitting up straight. I am 5'11" and my head was ridiculously craned to the side, roofline is about at the middle of my ears. They must have had a first grader measuring the headroom because the 14 and 15 by the numbers are almost identical but the 14 is much more manageable (sat in them back to back). I can say that the leg room is improved in the (Edit: )15.

IMO the rear is almost to the point of unsafe for an adult, you could lean forward to get somewhat comfortable but in the case of an accident you would be smacking your head somewhere that would not feel good.

To all you guys that have your 2015s is there any chance that someone could stick a giy about 5 ft 8 in the back and take a pic ot two? I am desperate to know how my son will fit in the back and I get the feeling it could be some time before we get the chance to try in the UK
Please??
Here's what AMAlex looks like! I'm 5 ft 9! Don't mind the beard! You can see where my left hand is, as well as where my hair starts to get smushed is this window. It's doable if the driver wants to accommodate someone in the rear and I think it would be okay for a quick run down the street/around town but a trip any longer than 10-15 min would be pushing it!

Thanks so much. Its not actually as bad as I thought it might be.
We will have a second car anyway but I just want to be able to put my son in the back when we need to. Most the time it will just be me and err indoors!

Went to a dealer who had an ecoboost in stock. Sat in the back seat. I am 5'11 and you can't lean back without your head touching the windshield, however you can slouch down a bit and you'll be able to lean back comfortably without your head touching anything.

I'm 5'9" and my head scrapes the roof a little when I'm in the back. I got in the passanger side front seat and put the seat forward until my knees were about 3 inches fron the glovebox, then got in the back with the seat in the same position and had plenty of leg room. The headroom sucked though. I wouldn't put anyone big in the back seat.:headbonk:

Thanks again for all your replies, keep em coming.
Had a bit of a battle with the Mrs at the weekend when she told me I cant have a Mustang if our son doesnt sit in the back ok.
I told her we will have to get her a bigger car and hell will freeze over before I decide not to get a Mustang. I am getting one. I have worked my balls off all my life and finally getting my dream bit of American Muscle.
Rear head room aint gonna stop me but it may back live a bit simpler if its adequate!

SteveC,

Cars are temporary headed to the junk yard, we are not, we are headed forever to one of two places. Family first, you will be much happier, now go tell your wife she is right and your sorry, another words be a man that loves your family more than a car.

Sincerely brother,

DeColores

I'm sure this is old news (I didn't read the whole thread), but I'm 6'1" and sat in the back just to see how bad it was and I said forget about having adults back there. It was extremely short and I couldn't lean back and had my head sideways. It will be fine for my young kids, but that's it. I was ordering a c7 corvette so I wasn't expecting back seats anyway so two small ones are better than none. Lol

No chance of me not getting one.
I have alway brought a sensible family car and always put family first.
The fact is, my son wants a Mustang as much as I do anyway so, I am putting him first.
I am buying the Mrs a new car next year anyway, so she can be the one that has the sensible 4/5 seater.

Finally saw my first 2015 in person. I own a 2013 GT convertible. There is significantly less room in the back seats of the 2015. I crawled into the back seat and gave it my best shot. Very uncomfortable roof line. I'm just under 6'0" tall and my head was noticeably tilted to avoid touching the glass. When trying to sit comfortable it was impossible. Leg room has shrunk also. Egress was just as bad. I know, I know it's a 2 sports coupe, but this was a big step back in design. Form won over function this time.

The interior is nice and the lines on the exterior are great. Still struggling with certain views of the tail light section. Something on the dished out trunk area that isn't quite working for me. I've been following the car for 18 months so there were no surprises and sadly made the first viewing anti climatic.

Welll I have gone with plan b.
Sorting out driving lessons for the Mrs and for her birthday next May she is getting a car. Will be small enough for her to drive but big enough for the family when we all go out together. Trust me, with football, Playstation, xbox and cricket (its a bit like baseball but the rules are harder to understand) we dont got out much as a family!

I'm 5'10 and my head is up against the glass and headliner when I'm in the back. The only people that'll be in the back of mine will be children or small women. Make that small women for the front seat too. LOL

We will need reports from convertible owners once they come out. Hoping for a couple extra of inches over the fastback.
