Rear diff leak

Is this just the pinion seal or also axle seals leaking? If it was just the pinion seal I’d expect it to not be coated that high up

Also is this covered under the powertrain warranty? It’s a 2021 gt with 55k miles

Appears to be the pinion seal. The half shafts are dry.

Attached is an excerpt from the 2022 Warranty Guide. "Seals and gaskets" are covered.

I had my pinion seal fixed. With no warranty it's a little over $600. I would not recommend you doing it yourself. It requires a few speciality tools and both rear tires have to be off when torking.

$600 for a seal , gonna call and check today I believe it’s covered under warranty.

Yes it felt like a rip off. Somethings I only trust the dealership to do certain stuff. Im sure an uncertified ford mechanic would have an assistant hit the brakes while he tightens the pinion. Id laugh but for that price it would be the tears of a clown. My uncle and I do most of the mechanic work. Tell t hem to replace the flange also. Let ford take the $275 bill L○L
