Did the people who got the US style rear deck lids from the group buy from newtakeoff find that they were in good condition? They have the disclaimer about minor blemishes, but even with the shipping they're considerably cheaper than buying a brand new one.

Obviously if there are major cosmetic flaws it defeats the purpose a little bit and I might have to stump up for a new one!

Cheers guys.

Just buy it off 2-STANG he is certified importer for New Take Off and I can vouch for the quality of the products he brings it. Plus it will work out cheaper for you

Is it easy enough to remove that panel? I am thinking of having mine painted Grabber Blue to match the car, when the car gets here.

I really like the look of this Race Red example. It makes the car look more reminiscent of the 1967/8 Mustang in my eyes.

Looks pretty good painted. Very easy install. My only concern is I've seen lots of reports of the guidance lines, or whatever they're called, disappearing from the reversing camera and having to be re enabled at the dealership when the camera is disconnected.

Don't actually know how big a deal that is as I've never had those lines on any other car anyway. Camera alone is still awesome.

Thanks very much for the link! I have bookmarked that for future reference. (Hopefully only a month or so in the future!)

I never thought of the camera issue, I'd hate to stuff that up. They are handy at times. Hmmm...

Maybe 'wrapping' in situ instead of painting my be a safer option, if the colour can be matched, which might be doubtful. At least I could remove it if I don't like the concept though. Thinking of white stripes too, which may change the overall look.

Not that big a deal, just an inconvenience as you need to go to a dealer for them to re enable the feature IF it stops working.

I've thought about either white or black stripes. I think either would work but I need to see the colour in person before deciding. I know the GT350 in Grabber is offered with either.

The panel is easy to replace and new takeoff were great. The camera issue is only related to people who replaced the camera as well. I disconnected mine and reconnected when i put the panel on with no drama

When removing the panel with a panel tool, DO NOT apply leverage to the painted metal of your trunk (boot) door. It will bend/dent. Leverage should be toward you with the fulcrum behind the panel you are removing, not against the "built in spoiler hump" area of the trunk door.

Good tip. That area is fairly weak. Many posts from people who dented the trunk there just closing it too hard with their hand.

But aren't you impressed that an American knows what a fulcrum is?

Public school even...
