I heard the info about no production 5 weeks ago and resently some individuals were questioning the truth about the info. My info came from a very reliable source, yours?Between 2015 and 2016s, fewer than 100 have been built so far. Ford originally wasn't going to build Rs from November through February. But given how delayed they are already, the relatively moderate weather and small number of additional cars Ford was able to build, Ford made a few extra during November and none further have been made so far.
I got a call from Ford yesterday regarding my R model VIN #319 and was advised that production of my car was being pushed out until March at the very earliest and possibly until April.Between 2015 and 2016s, fewer than 100 have been built so far. Thanks Al.^ Very very very nice set there Harry!
Replete with indy garages too....
Great looking cars, well deserved I am sure. Thanks Al.
I am truly thankful and very appreciative for all that I have and in large part due to living in America!
I seems just like yesterday that I purchased my first automobile which was a '67 Mercury Cougar and that was way back in the '60's and I have been hooked on the Blue Oval brand ever since.
:ford:
Amen to that - Harry is a fantastic man!Great looking cars, well deserved I am sure.
I met Harry in Sebring, super nice guy also.
I agree as I never used to like White cars until I bought the '12 PW Boss and then wanted a '13 Boss in PW as well.bummer about the R...but, ya, you do have some nice rides to fall back on.
I'm a sucker for that PW '12 Boss...I have one too and am planning to sell it once my 350 comes...but it'll be really hard to let that car go.
What a beautiful Shelby and the very last 2015 GT350R model built and it is going to a terrific owner in my opinion.Got to look at a R model today. I must say it is stunning in person. Photos do not do it justice. Couple of things I noticed...
The Stripes had visible scratches on the hood. The rear spoiler had orange peel.
Biggest thing that made me wonder was the front rim's.. The inside was not painted. Was...odd. Not sure if that's supposed to be like that or if it's a QC issue.
This vehicle is #37. Apparently this was sold at MSRP to someone with friends at Ford.
Thoroughly enjoyed gawking at it and has me thinking about a 4Q 2016 upgrade... :headbonk:
Anyone with a 2015 R confirm the front rim thing?
Hey, thanks for the history. I am glad this fine example is going to a good home. It is also interesting to learn the front rim's have a "heat" coating. The rear rim's are painted black all the way thru so I was not sure what was going on. Would love to see that '65 R and the '15 side by side... :eyebulge:What a beautiful Shelby and the very last 2015 GT350R model built and it is going to a terrific owner in my opinion.
This last 2015 Shelby Mustang GT350 #37 belongs to John A. and will very nicely compliment his '65 GT350 R model #5R002.
1965 Shelby GT350 VIN - SFM5R002 was the first competition Mustang built by Carroll Shelby and his team back in 1965 and was driven by people such as Ken Miles, Jerry Titus, Peter Brock, Chuck Cantwell and Bob Bondurant so what an appropriate place for #37 to be heading to.
Based on my understanding 5R002 had the most wins of any '65 R model in history with 12 wins in 16 starts back in 1965.
How's that for a nice home to go to!!
I am sure that will happen in short order once #37 gets to it's final resting stop in the Pacific Northwest.Hey, thanks for the history. I am glad this fine example is going to a good home.
