With the long holiday weekend coming up I plan to update my dad's My Ford Touch/Sync2 in his 2013 F150. I figured I'd practice first on my Mustang, but I ran into problems in step #1.

I understand the latest release for Sync2 is v3.8 but according to owner.ford.com my Mustang's v3.7 is the latest version. Even worse, going by VIN on the same site my dad's version 3.5 is also the latest version. So not able to download anything new for either vehicle from Ford.

What am I doing wrong? There are definitely features in v3.7 (my 2015 Mustang) that I'd like to add to my dad's truck (2013 F150 v3.5) if possible. Plus I'd just like to have both vehicles on the same version.

Any advice is appreciated. Here's the current versions as shown in owner.ford.com for both vehicles. In case it makes any difference, both have My Ford Touch with Navigation.

Download the 3.8 to USB and Install

Just download the 3.8 update to a USB and apply it to the vehicle, it will update with no issues, did both of my 2013 Edge's and my 2017 Mustang Base with a SYNC 2 Update.

Is there a "reliable" place to download the update from? Don't want to brick my device.
