Is the touchscreen system available after market for a Mustang that didn't come with one? The full system with the hvac display, navigation, etc? Where would you get it from?

I would think you could retrofit the system if you order all the parts and trim pieces.

But you should wait for the 2016 version. They are changing the whole headunit; hardware and software is drastically changed.

I think that is probably pretty labor and cost intensive though. That is a ton of retrofitting, wiring, etc

Really? I would think it is just plug and play if you get the proper parts. You need to order the trim around the screen, the headunit, amp, and some harnesses. Perhaps satellite radio might not function. And HD radio. You'd need to figure out about the special antennas for those if necessary.

Now, if you want the extra speakers, that might be harder. I know the premium package has some extra speakers as well. You could leave those out if you don't need them, or get the trim pieces, wiring, and extra speakers as well.

Maybe... But having dealt with MFT on my past two vehicles, aftermarket just doesn't even mess with it because of all the wiring involved. Ford has definitely made it as difficult as possible anyway.

Yeah, it would probably be hard if you want to install non-standard amps and speakers to work with the stock wiring and headunit/amp.

But, with all stock parts, speakers and all, it may be just plug and play. It would be a fun exercise on a V6.

I wish it was easy as plug and play. It looks like it would be a neat feature. I just have the base model. :(
