Question for NY residents - muffler modifications

Hi Everyone,

As the title states, this is a question for those that live in NY. I am looking to put a simple axle back exhaust system on my 2015 ecoboost. For those who live in NY and have done exhaust mods can you please provide insight on the following:

Annual state inspections - will i pass with an axle back or muffler delete? From what I can understand as long as the original cats are in place there should be no issue.

Any info and personal insights on this topic would be greatly appreciated!

Yes you'll pass with flying colors with an axle back. Just leave the cats alone.

Passing will not be a problem.

I run straight pipes and only have cats. I pass no issue. Plenty of shops told me they would pass me without cats too as long as I tune the O2 code out.
