I am taking my 2015 GT in to the dealer for the door lock recall fix and a rear camera problem. Located in California.

I have a Steeda CAI with SCT X4 tune.

Does anyone think I should take off the CAI and return to stock before going in to dealer.

I'm thinking I should not bother because the CAI installed has nothing to do with the recall and rear camera. I'm just wondering if anyone thinks they might make an issue of it if they pop the hood and see the CAI, or if they might log info like this for future warranty work if any had to be done.

Don't sweat it. Your issue and recall are not caused by either of those things. If you brought a car in with a powertrain issue, then it would be a different story.

Your warranty work will be fixed no issues. Be advised they will note your car has been tuned for future reference. Like Mindys said any powertrain issues you're S.O.L. Price you pay to tune.

Thanks for the replies. I was thinking about returning to stock tune and putting the original air box back in because if they are fixing the rear camera and the door latch recall there should be no reason to hook in to the computer. Not seeing a CAI and not hooking into the computer means they might not notice anything.

On the other hand if I did have a powertrain issue and needed warranty work in the future they'd probably find that a tune had been applied anyway, when checking the system.

If that is the most likely case I'm thinking its not worth the trouble to remove CAI and tune and return to stock, just for the recall and camera issue.

Save yourself some work. Like you said, if you brought it in for powertrain the first thing they will do is check your ecu.
