Question about color / delivery when ordering

I am planning to order a 2015 GT shortly but have a question with respect to color and manufacturing schedule.

Specifically, I want yellow but want to receive the car between mid-March and early April.
When should I order to make that happen?

My presumption is that Ford would be doing runs of particular colors as enough orders in a specific color are received.
Is this correct or is there some other criteria to decide which cars are built in a particular order?

I couldn't tell you anything about ordering a specific color, but I can tell you that if you are looking for a mid March delivery you should consider putting your order in right now. An on time delivery of an order put in today would be right around the middle to end of February, but there is also a plant shut down for christmas to consider.

After the new year I think 6-8 weeks will be the norm for most orders, I would order now though if you want to get it late Feb early March, if you wait until Jan though you might get it in the time frame you want.

I think it will end up still being more like 10-12weeks for order to delivery.
A lot will depend on if his dealership has any allocations when he orders.

I ordered on 11/22 and looks like at best it will be the end of Feb before my
car shows up. My tentative build date is 1/26 (per Rachel). My dealer sell
a fair amount of Mustangs, but has had 4 (3- EBs, 2 -V6s) on the lot for over
2 months. So your mileage may vary.
